Details
Designed by architect Frank Gehry, the Louis Vuitton Foundation building is a work of art in itself. Marvel at the structure from the outside before entering the museum with your ticket. Explore the 11 galleries of the Foundation, taking in both the permanent and temporary exhibitions.
From an initial sketch drawn on a blank page in a notebook to the transparent cloud sitting at the edge of the Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne, Frank Gehry constantly sought to "design, in Paris, a magnificent vessel symbolising the cultural calling of France". A creator of dreams, he has designed a unique, emblematic and bold building. Respectful of a history rooted in French culture of the 19th century, Frank Gehry dared to use technological achievements of the 21st century, opening the way for pioneering innovation.
This great architectural exploit has already taken its place among the iconic works of 21st-century architecture. Frank Gehry's building, which reveals forms never previously imagined until today, is the reflection of the unique, creative and innovative project that is the Fondation Louis Vuitton.
With your entrance ticket, enjoy a skip-the-line access to the Foundation and spend as much time as you like admiring the different exhibitions.
Current Exhibition : "Gerhard Richter", until March 2d 2026
Continuing its tradition of landmark monographic exhibitions devoted to leading figures of 20th and 21st-century art — including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Joan Mitchell, Mark Rothko, and David Hockney — the Fondation will dedicate all its galleries to Gerhard Richter, widely regarded as one of the most important and internationally celebrated artists of his generation.
Gerhard Richter was featured in the inaugural presentation of the Fondation Louis Vuitton in 2014, with a group of works from the Collection. Now, the Fondation is honoring the artist with an exceptional retrospective — unmatched both in scale and in chronological scope — featuring 275 works stretching from 1962 to 2024. The exhibition includes oil paintings, glass and steel sculptures, pencil and ink drawings, watercolors, and overpainted photographs. For the first time, an exhibition will offer a comprehensive view of over six decades of Gerhard Richter’s creation - an artist whose greatest joy has always been working in his studio.
